627 Bourbon Street
This amazing place on Bourbon is owned by Channing Tatum and styled after the famous red-light district bordellos and burlesque halls of New Orleans' Storyville era.
Sip on a cocktail called Silk Panties (Grey Goose, Peach Liqueur and Cranberry Juice) before eating the Cajun Grit Cake: jumbo lump crabmeat crab cake served over a cheesy handmade grit cake.

This little hole in the wall just steps off of Bourbon has the best gyros I've ever had in my life. Reasonably priced and open super late, it is one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite.
Cafe Du Monde

Everyone knows about this place. And everyone goes there. For a very good reason. The beignets are fricking amazing. If you are in New Orleans and do not grab a beignet while you're here, you should be shot.

Specialty burgers and hot dogs with a huge selection of beer. Really? Does it get any better? Wait. It does. Skillet fries round out the menu. So good.
From the Debris Fries (cheddar jack cheese, roast beef debris and gravy, sour cream, and green onions) to The "Croquer" (two burger patties with grilled ham and melted gruyere cheese with a garlic cream spread on pressed brioche bread topped with a fried egg), I guarantee you'll have to unbutton your pants when you're done.
Gumbo Shop
630 St. Peter
I had never had gumbo before going here. And thank goodness this was where I went for my first time. Wow. Grab a cup of the Chicken Andouille Gumbo (boneless chicken, andouille sausage, and seasonings simmered in a chicken stock) which was voted by locals as the best gumbo in the city.

Delivery and open late made this my favorite local pizza place thus far.
Try the Virtuous Angel specialty pizza (garlic herb sauce, mozzarella cheese, artichokes, spinach, fresh mushrooms, and tomatoes) - I always ask them to add Italian sausage. Holy shit. Seriously heavenly.
